Finance

Human Resources
Employees in HR department analyse and anticipate human resource needs, manage skills, recruit new employees and help grow the careers of current employees. They ensure administrative management of contracts and payroll.

In the industry, designing means making an idea that meets a customer needs a reality. This function included research, technology intelligence, studies, and innovation that enable the design, improvement or optimisation of products, methods and processes. It also takes into account design and eco-design. This department is in constant interaction with marketing and is integrated upstream of industrialisation. CAD computer programmes are used for creation and designing. The engineering department play an essential role here.

Intelligence means being responsive to one’s environment, and in particular the factors that affect the supply of goods and services of a company, not to mention its strategy. It covers the technological, organisational and legal developments for example. Technology intelligence benefits the design of new products and innovation.

Research and Development (R&D) covers creative work undertaken on a systematic basis in order to increase know-how and includes the following activities: basic research, applied research and experimental development.

These jobs correspond to the activities of the company’ in terms of procurement (raw materials or primary parts), manufacturing, assembly and packaging. Testing and quality control are key throughout the entire production chain and all the way to shipping since they make it possible to offer customers compliant products on time and at the expected costs, while respecting the organisation and regulatory requirements in terms of the environment, and occupational health and safety.

Purchasing
These jobs require negotiation skills (quality, price, etc.) as a means to reach the objectives and to answer a needs of the company or department. They use generic information (technical, product, intelligence, organisational and legal) together with a range of expertise (internal and external).

Logistics
Includes activities such as procurement, receiving, shipping (national and international), scheduling, handling, and inventory management for the purpose of meeting established deadlines. A distinction is made between:
Outbound logistics: acceptance, shipping, management of freight, international, bills of exchange, insurance, inventory management, etc. and
Internal logistics: procurement, acceptance, shipping, production scheduling, organisation/coordination of flows, handling, inventory management, production scheduling, etc.

Inspection and testings
Inspection activities carried out on finished products or sampling to ensure compliance (by measurement or observation). The necessary measures can thus be taken in case of non-compliance to manage defects and scraps. These jobs require communication with clients and the implementation of self-checks and SPC (Statistical Process Controls).

Quality, security, environment
These activities include the analysis of products and situations, work group management and the formalisation/dissemination of procedures for improving the organisation in order to ensure that customer requirements are met and comply with regulatory requirements.
It requires the organisation and management of one or more risk management systems, the drafting of procedures and operations sheets, the training of users, and implementation of monitoring and audits in order to make recommendations, and communicate with external bodies (CRAM (Regional Social Security Authority), DIRRECTE (The Regional Labour, Employment and Professional Training Directorate), the prefecture, DREAL (Regional Directorate for Environment, Development and Housing), etc.)..

Manufacturing – Assembly
These jobs concern activities for the preparation, settings, production, and inspection of products produced, as well as production follow-up. They involved continuous improvement process, and require versatility and poly-competence for preparing and launching production, carrying out production or assembly, verifying production and fine-tuned maintenance of the production means, suggesting improvements, managing production and supervising the teams.
