After Michelin in 2018, this year it was PELLENC’s turn to host the 18th edition of the Aprodema Summer Schools; an association to promote agricultural machinery professions and training. For the occasion, various manufacturers joined forces to train teachers in new agricultural technologies.

 

Forging a link between education and industries

How can we attract talented young people to the innovative agricultural machinery sector ? The Aprodema Summer Schools take place each year and offer an important opportunity to forge links between teachers and manufacturers. The goal is to develop educational programs adapted to the sector’s technologies and to enhance the attractiveness of a sector with a bright future. On July 9-11, PELLENC SAS hosted the most recent edition of the event at La Fruitière Numérique in Lourmarin.

 

85 teachers / 20 manufacturing partners

For the occasion, 85 teachers from all over France gathered to attend five teaching workshops co-organised with partner manufacturers, on a range of topics :

  • Hydraulics : POCLAIN and FENDT
  • Engines : MASSEY FERGUSON, JOHN DEER and ARGO
  • Harvesting machines : PELLENC and CNH
  • Angle mowers : KUHN
  • Plough : GREGOIRE BESSON and LEMKEN

 

A facility tour illustrating the innovative strength of the sector

During this event, PELLENC SAS teams contributed by providing a a facility tour that was well received by both teachers and manufacturers. “I was very surprised by the level of quality in the manufacturing section and by the gender equity in the production teams,” explained Laurent Claveau, business development specialist at Michelin. “We get a sense that these people are really into what they do and always willing to get better at it.”
