A strategic move to South Africa – Wineland May 2014
Located in Paarl, in South Africa’s foremost winegrowing and producing region, the new PELLENC South Africa subsidiary will strengthen PELLENC’s position within a booming market making increasing investments in mechanisation. PELLENC South Africa will be headed by Philippe Bohn, an accomplished connoisseur of winegrowing in South Africa. The launch happened following the transfer of distributorship of Pellenc products from incumbent distributor Vintec, a subsidiary of the AG Molenaar holding company.
“South Africa is a flourishing market. We have been established here for several years, and now with this new subsidiary it is our wish to play a part in a dynamic sector undergoing speedy modernisation, and one which appreciates our know-how,” explains PELLENC SA Chairman Roger Pellenc. “Besides, we are especially proud of the fact that ‘made-in-France’ technology is taking part in elaborating the wines from the new world.”
With the creation of Pellenc South Africa, it is now possible for producers of wine, fruit and olives to deal with a single contact for any equipment relating to the following:
– Performing vineyard tasks (from pruning to harvesting)
– Destemming and sorting the harvest at the winery
– Pruning vines/fruit trees/olive trees with handheld power tools
– Harvesting olives/stone fruit
Great attention has been given to providing services that are close to customers, by setting up a network of responsive agents who have been given specific training by engineers at the PELLENC SA factory in France.
Demo sessions for PELLENC products are available year-round, in step with winegrowing and fruit farming seasonal cycles.
The official launch, on June 12th 2014, of the new PELLENC OPTIMUM multifunction tractor will be an opportunity to discover the tools of the vineyard work. To receive an invitation, please contact Matthew Hamel.
